Life is created by sperm and egg, and that DNA of the sperm and egg gives the characteristic of the zygote. Who knows, the first chicken could actually have been like a fish!! And different mutations in evolution created the first chicken!! So the egg came first, but from another animal that kept evolving until the first chicken was created.

yea, i agree with Kris, the very first organism, was a protist, and it was a unicellular creature, which in that case there is no egg or sperm, there is asexual reproduction, and its just where the cell splits into 2....eventually the creatures mutated and after a couple billion years the Chicken, and the human formed....that is if u believe evolution, in theology terms, parent first, egg second...there are many theories, none have been proved, though, so its all on what u believe....

I hate the creation theories. I mean, I was raised to believe in both Adam and Eve and the Evolutionist theory. So here's my theory:
God created all these different animals, and then said to himself, "Lord, I made this world boring. Let's get something new in here." So he took some apes and just kept changing them until he came up with man and woman. And then he wanted to try again, but Eve turned to him and said, "OH NO YOU DON'T!"
